Diocese of Columbus, OH
Position Purpose/Background:
The Safe Environment Office Intern provides administrative and programmatic support to the Office of Safe Environment in support of diocesan initiatives related to child protection and Safe Environment compliance. The intern assists staff with data management, event coordination, communications, and general office support.
This unpaid internship provides undergraduate students with practical experience in nonprofit administration, program coordination, and office operations within a faith-based organization.
Internships are typically completed on a semester basis and may be renewed for additional semesters based on performance and office needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with data entry and database maintenance related to Safe Environment training and compliance records.
• Support the organization and maintenance of electronic and physical files.
• Assist with preparing reports, spreadsheets, and program materials as needed.
• Provide support in coordinating training sessions, meetings, and events, including preparing materials and tracking attendance.
• Assist with communications to parishes, schools, and volunteers, including drafting reminders and informational messages.
• Provide general administrative support to the Safe Environment Office staff.
• Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Current undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
