**This posting is hiring for three positions within the division.

Where We Need You:ย 

Ohio EPAย wants you toย serve in this roleย within our Division of Surface Water.

Why We Need You:ย 

As a Seasonal Environmental Intern with Ohio EPA, you'll help protect Ohio's water resources while gaining handson experience in environmental permitting and wastewater oversight. You'll work sidebyside with technical staff to support realworld regulatory projects by performing tasks such as:

  • Collecting and summarizing wastewater data for Permit to Install (PTI) applications, to assist technical staff with evaluating treatment system capacity, treatment design, and environmental impact.

  • Reviewing PTI applications and detailed plans for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with state environmental rules and standards.

  • Compiling and organizing key data for wastewater discharge permits to support the regulatory process that protects water quality across the state.

  • Preparing reports and tabulating technical information to turn raw data into clear summaries used by technical staff and decision-makers.

  • Assisting with field inspections at wastewater treatment plants to observe operations firsthand and help document a facility's permit compliance.

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college degree program directly related to the position or have recently graduated within the quarter/semester immediately preceding the start date.
  • Major area of study: Environmental Science, Water Resources, Chemistry or Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical) or relevant field of study.
  • Knowledge of safety practices, public relations, Agency policies and procedures and permits as applicable.
  • Skills in computers (word processing and database work)
