  • Tellers meeting performance expectations are eligible for an initialย pay increase of up to $1.00/hourย after six months of service, with a second performance-based increase at their one-year anniversary.

  • Boost Your Pay with Saturday Shifts!ย We value our weekend team and show it with extra pay. Youโ€™ll receive aย $30 differential for all Saturday shifts, with a special summer differential of $60 for Saturdays worked (Memorial Day to Labor Day).
  • Tellers are eligible to participate in theย Valley Bank Year-End Bonus Incentive Plan, providing an opportunity to earn additional compensation based on company performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a part of a dynamic team, you are the face of the Valley Bank Organization. You are the front-line liaison for all customer contact areas and will work closely with other departments.ย  ย You will assist customers in both the lobby and drive-up, you will engage in and present solutions to satisfy the complete needs of each customer while processing standard banking transactions. You will follow through with customer requests and refer to appropriate banker for additional needs. You will play an active role in your development/growth within your position by being aware of your performance and requesting support or training as needed.

Processes deposits, Withdrawals, Cashes Checks, Buys & Sells Cash, Change Orders, Cash Advances, Loan Payments, Cashierโ€™s Checks, GL Credit/Debit, Advice of Credit/Debits, Canadian Exchanges, and telephone transfers - 100%

  • Responsible for securing cash, coin, and negotiable instruments with accuracy and following set procedures.
  • Accountable for each transaction/request with speed and accuracy while maintaining a balanced drawer.
  • Print statements and cashes savings bonds.
  • Completes fraud/non-fraud debit card disputes and ATM and disputes.
  • Understand and uses currency counter, coin counter, MICR printer, Teller Cash Dispenser, and Teller Cash Recycler (when needed).
  • Operates Silverlake, Vertex, NetTeller, and entry level Passport while completing necessary findings and completes entries. ย 
  • Administers information on personal and business account types, online banking, bill pay and mobile check deposit.
  • Represent Valley Bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive โ€œcan-doโ€ attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs.ย 
  • Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy.ย 
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job in order to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working directly with the public.
  • Basic computer literacy preferred.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Provide high quality customer service by listening actively and responding promptly. ย 
  • Knowledge of Valley Bank products/services to effectively present appropriate solutions to customers.
  • Adept at using technology to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Demonstrates confidence while using excellent problem-solving skills to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.

Assigned Work Hours:ย The assigned work hours and locations may vary, including some weekends, non-traditional holidays, and working alone.ย 

Work Environment: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.

Physical Demands: Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Routinely perform work on computer for long periods of time. ย 

  • Be able to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-pound money bags.
  • Stand for long periods of time.ย
