Personal Banker - (Community/Universal Banker) - Webster Groves
The Personal Banker is a full-time role located in the heart of Webster Groves, MO. If you are a people person and enjoy engaging with customers, building relationships based on trust, and helping clients meet their financial goals, this could be the right role for you!
As a Personal Banker you will create a positive client experience while conducting banking transactions. You must have a can do attitude, be a team player, and actively listen to clients' financial needs in order to refer them to the appropriate bank product or specialist. Additionally, you must thrive in a diverse customer environment and be able to resolve customer service complaints, maintain the security of customer information, and manage your assigned cash drawer responsibly.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Community Banker, Universal Banker, Associate Banker, Retail Banker, Branch Banker, Bank Teller, Consumer Banker, or Credit Union Member Services Representative.
In this Role You Will
  • Client Experience: Deliver a positive client experience aimed at improving client financial well-being and creating loyalty while increasing branch sales and profitability. Process a variety of client transactions, educate and advise clients on alternative banking products that support their specific needs. Create banking opportunities during client interactions and refer customers to financial specialist when appropriate.
  • Referrals: Identify opportunities through meaningful conversations with clients and make appropriate referrals to branch staff or other partners.
  • Lobby Engagement: Perform lobby engagement activities to connect with clients and position First Bank products that meet their needs. Educate clients on options for managing financial transactions by leveraging technology, tools, and resources.
  • Product and Procedural Knowledge: Apply product and procedural knowledge to address client requests.
  • Operational Compliance: Adhere to all policies and procedures, demonstrate sound judgment within established limits, and ensure teller and branch daily operations and maintenance transactions are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Schedule: Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Wednesday and Thursday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM, and a floating Saturday shift from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Competencies and Skills
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: At least one year of relevant work experience in customer service, retail sales, banking sales or call center experience preferred; prior banking experience is strongly preferred.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Ability to process information and transactions with high levels of accuracy.
  • Addressing Client Needs: Knowledge of and the ability to recognize and be sensitive to the different perspectives and priorities of different customers.
  • Digital Awareness: Shares, shows, and supports clients on a variety of technological digital and online tools and resources, allowing them to explore solutions to achieve their financial goals and well-being.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Critical Thinking: Knowledge of and ability to utilize processes, tools, and techniques for detecting, addressing, and preventing fraudulent situations.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

The range for this role takes into account many factors that First Bank considers when making hiring decisions, including but not limited to prior experience, skill set, training, and other internal business and organizational factors. The range is driven by the geographic location of the anticipated hiring location; however, the specific range may vary depending on the geographic location for remote positions. Compensation decisions depend on the specific facts and circumstances of each hiring instance.
A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is $18.00 - $21.00
