As a small independently owned community bank, First Bank Elk River, a subsidiary of First National Financial Services, is the right size bank for an individual to have opportunities to grow with offices in Elk River, Anoka and Rogers.  We are on a mission to "Enhance the human and financial well-being of our staff, customers, communities and shareholders". Big enough to serve the broad financial needs of the clients and communities we serve, and small enough to develop relationships between clients and staff. This position provides an opportunity to develop relationships with seasoned knowledgeable bankers with many years in the banking and financial services industry. 


Position overview: 

The primary role of the Business Banking Officer is to serve all the business banking needs of commercial entities within our market.  While protecting private customer and bank information, the Business Banking Officer will work with existing clients to meet their banking needs, continually prospect new clients, maintain their portfolio within set administration standards, develop fee income consistent with goals, cross sell other bank products and be active in community involvement.


Accountabilities:

New Business Development- Actively solicit new business by calling on prospects. The primary focus is on relationship banking which consists of both loans and deposits and direct contact with the business in contrast to loan participations. 

Portfolio Administration - Meet the existing commercial client banking expectations within department objectives regarding credit quality, profitability and regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring the level of delinquency, proactively addressing and monitoring any classified assets, and maintaining a professional file that is up to date.

Account Portfolio - Actively solicit new business from existing clients. This will include expanding the existing portfolio and increasing fee income and service penetration in relation to the department goals set.

Community Involvement - Represent First Bank Elk River in the community and Professional Development - Develop a personal growth plan, which includes continuing education.

Requirements

Excellent communication skills with sales and business development, credit analysis of complex financial transactions and customer negotiation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of commercial lending, ideally in a community bank.

Formal credit training or experience as a credit analyst or collateral examiner is a plus.

Special Requirements:

Ideal applicant will be a resident of the North/Northwest Metro or willing to relocate. This is particularly important for a business banker in a community bank to be part of and participate in the local community.

Work Environment:

Position operates in a professional office environment as described and out of the office calling on customers, visiting their businesses and being present in the community at community functions and events.  This position requires you to work mainly from the office, ensuring strong team interactions and effective communication. To promote work-life balance, occasional remote work is permitted. 

Salary Range:

Pay range is $124,000-186,000 plus incentives.  Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
