Job description

Job Title: Float Teller 

Location: FM Bank, 929 Rees St.  Breaux Bridge, LA 70517

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a customer-focused Float Teller to support teller operations across all branch locations. This position serves as a flexible resource, providing consistent, high-quality service wherever needed. The Float Teller completes routine banking transactions, addresses customer inquiries, and helps build strong customer relationships while ensuring compliance with all banking regulations.

This role requires the ability and willingness to travel to all branch locations as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash advances, loan payments, and check cashing
  • Balance and service ATMs and Teller Cash Dispensers/Recycling Machines
  • Process bulk coin deposits
  • Complete address changes and collect safe deposit box rental payments
  • Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily, accurately accounting for all cash received and disbursed
  • Accurately close out teller terminals at the end of each shift
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable banking laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Promote positive customer interactions, build relationships, and participate in cross-selling bank products and services
  • Contribute to branch business objectives and individual sales and customer service goals
  • Demonstrate strong risk management practices, including adherence to fraud prevention and robbery procedures
  • Provide teller coverage at various branch locations as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Cash handling, customer service, and/or sales experience preferred
  • Prior experience with financial institution software systems preferred

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals
  • Proficiency using calculators and computers
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Willingness and ability to travel to all branch locations
