IT PMO Intern

Sally Beauty offers products for hair color, hair care, nails, and skin care to retail customers looking for salon-quality products at a value price. Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers.

About the role

The IT PMO Intern plays a pivotal role in enhancing the performance and outcomes of our IT projects. This individual will support the PMO developing a standard for IT’s presence and engagement for monthly Capital Committee meetings and create a project Discovery tool kit utilizing PMI standards. 

To apply you must meet these guidelines/requirements:

  • This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work three days per week at the Support Center in Legacy West, Plano, TX.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
  • Housing, relocation, and transportation assistance are not provided.
  • Availability is required from June 1 through August 7, 2026, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Work with PMO and Finance partners to develop a standard for IT’s presence in monthly Capital Committee meetings to gain SLT funding approval
  • Create a project Discovery/Initiation tool kit that can be used for approved IT projects 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of PMO policies, processes, and templates 
  • Support project resource allocation and workload management across the IT portfolio.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall company strategy and goals.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the PMO through feedback and lessons learned from project executions.

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management or a related field; or equivalent practical experience 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated interest in information technology and project management, with a desire to grow in these areas
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Prior exposure to project management concepts, tools, or methodologies is a plus

 Working conditions & physical requirements

Location: Hybrid | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the Sally Beauty Support Center, Legacy West (Plano, TX); Remote Thursday or Friday

The typical working environment is in the support center office, and the work is sedentary. Typically, the associate may sit comfortably to do the job. However, some tasks and activities may be walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, files, books, and small parts, driving an automobile to a store location, etc. These activities are not frequent and do not require significant physical demands to perform the work.

While involving everyday risks or discomforts, the work environment is designed with standard safety precautions. These precautions, typical of offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles, include using safe work practices with office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, ensuring the safety and comfort of our associates.
