Job Description
Toft Dairy is hiring an entry level worker for an opening in our Milk Processing/Production Department as a machine or equipment operator. Applicants must comprehend the manufacturing teamwork environment and have experience preferably in food manufacturing. PLEASE NOTE: This is a full-time position currently working 4 days a week (M/T/R/F) with a start time between the hours of 1:00 AM - 2:00 AM until the end of daily production (approximately 10:00 AM/11:00AM or longer if required). The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and value commitment to the workplace. They must have experience on a production line (preferably within our industry) and be able to learn the operation of various equipment used in the milk bottling process and the tasks associated with the process. Everyday tasks include (but are not limited to) compliance responsibility for equipment cleaning and sanitation, food safety, and general safety. Production involves start-up/set up, production forecast fulfillment and end of production cleaning/sanitation. We offer a competitive and comprehensive package of benefits with 401k offered the date of hire and 401k company match offered after 6 months of employment. After successful completion of 60-day probationary period, you will be eligible for Medical Insurance with Rx Drug Coverage and the completion of 90-day supplemental Insurance benefits (employee paid) are offered through Principal and AFLAC. Vacation time, sick pay, holiday pay are available.
Responsibilities:
  • Various Equipment/machine Operation in the Milk Production department
  • Ensure quality and accuracy
  • Monitor machine operation & learn to troubleshoot
  • Some lifting / stacking milk cases
  • Disassembling equipment and cleaning/sanitizing machines
  • Sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and spray rinsing work area
  • Ability to perform required tasks safely, in a fast-paced work environment; ensuring food safety, quality and efficiency standards are achieved
  • Perform additional job tasks as assigned
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, and grasp throughout an 8-hr. workday
  • Follow and carry out communicated and written instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and good work ethic
  • Effective math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight and volume measurements.
  • Ability to multi-task while remaining calm and working effectively under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language; speak, understand, and read written and verbal instructions, policies and procedures
  • Reliable and responsible individual with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn routine tasks and the ability to adapt to everyday challenges.
