Job Description
 
The die casting job involves operating and maintaining die casting machines to produce metal parts. This includes setting up the equipment, monitoring the molten metal pouring process, inspecting finished parts for quality, and performing basic maintenance on the machines. This may also involve trimming excess material, repairing molds, and documenting production details.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Operating the die casting machine: This includes loading dies, setting parameters like temperature and pressure, and ensuring the machine runs smoothly during the casting process. 
  • Monitoring and inspecting: Checking the molten metal flow, ensuring proper filling of the die, and inspecting finished castings for defects or adherence to specifications. 
  • Setting up and adjusting equipment: Installing dies, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring proper alignment and functioning of the equipment. 
  • Performing maintenance and repairs: Basic maintenance of the die casting machine, including cleaning, lubricating, and repairing minor issues. 
  • Trimming and finishing parts: Removing excess material, grinding scrap, and preparing the parts for further processing.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Mechanical aptitude, experience with gauges, micrometers, tape measure & hand tools
  • Ability to work without supervision & strong work ethic
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively
  • Previous trim, press or injection molding experience
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check
