Entry-Level Legal Assistant – Workers’ Compensation – Hybrid in Mt. Laurel, NJ

Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an entry-level Legal Assistant to support our Workers’ Compensation practice in our Mount Laurel, NJ office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the legal field. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Receive new referrals from adjusters and attorneys and complete new file intake forms.
  • Open and organize new case files in iManage and Aderant.
  • File Answers to Claim Petitions with the appropriate court.
  • Prepare and send discovery demands.
  • Maintain and track new files to ensure initial file reviews are completed within 30 days of referral.
  • Organize and sort file materials received with referrals and additional documents received during the initial stages of the case.
  • Monitor Courts OnLine for new court filings and update case files accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical case files.
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, court personnel, and other legal professionals as needed.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal staff.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior administrative, office, customer service, or legal support experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to learn new software and technology quickly.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Professional demeanor and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in the Mt. Laurel, NJ office 2 days per week.

   

The starting salary for this position is $40,000 + and is dependent upon various factors such as education, experience and internal equity.
