Cherry County Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced onsite Lead Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team. This leadership role is responsible for guiding the Clinical Informatics Team, supporting clinical staff, and optimizing the use of healthcare technology systems to improve patient care and workflow efficiency.


Position Overview

The Lead Clinical Informatics Specialist serves as a key liaison between clinical teams and information technology. This role provides leadership and oversight of the Clinical Informatics Team while ensuring effective use, adoption, and optimization of clinical systems and electronic health records.


Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Cherry County Hospital 
  • Provide leadership and daily oversight of the Clinical Informatics Team in collaboration with the CIO 
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and IT to improve workflows and system efficiency 
  • Support optimization of Meditech EHR workflows and performance metrics 
  • Coordinate clinical system onboarding and develop EHR training for providers 
  • Act as a primary escalation point for EHR and clinical system issues 
  • Manage system configuration, user setup, and application support within the EHR 
  • Lead implementation, testing, and maintenance of Meditech projects and enhancements 
  • Coordinate go-lives, downtime events, and after-hours support as needed 
  • Oversee helpdesk functions and assist Core IT staff with complex issues 
  • Manage e-prescribing setup through Dr. First and Meditech 
  • Support integration and interfacing of clinical systems into the EHR 
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system coverage 
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, corporate compliance policies, and hospital procedures 
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient medical, personal, and financial information 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) required 
  • Minimum of 3 years of Meditech experience required 
  • Clinical Informatics experience within a healthcare system required 
  • Advanced education or certifications may be considered equivalent experience 
  • Must reside within a 30-minute commute of the faculty.
