Role Overview

Project Development Analyst (DA) supporting the New Development Initiative Team (NDI): This is an exciting entry-level leadership role on the front lines of business development for the Company and at the cutting edge of the renewable energy industry. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position that directly supports the prospecting and development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the entire country. The DA identifies, cultivates and helps secure land agreements for new projects. This includes brand new business development using state-of-the art technical tools and leveraging best-in-class industry expertise among the various departments in the Company. The role also includes performing rigorous analysis of assets at different stages of development that the Company may consider for acquisition.

On a daily basis, the DA works closely with subject matter experts in every aspect of the utility-scale renewable energy industry. This includes our specialty departments such as Execution Project Management, Engineering, Investments, Legal, Finance, Government Affairs, Community Relations, Data Center Development, etc. The DA is responsible for handling complex tasks and supporting Project Managers on multiple projects and prospects. The DA must be confident in interacting with diverse internal project teams and external landowners, community stakeholders, and public officials. This is a unique early-career position with tremendous opportunity for formal training and on-the-job adventure! What You Will Be Doing
  • Support the development of large-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects
  • Coordinate routinely with the EDPR Data Center Team
  • Create and update project maps and databases using GIS tools and other software
  • Represent EDPR in the field, working with Project Managers and landowners to create, negotiate, and amend agreements, options, leases, and land purchase agreements
  • Engage in community outreach and stakeholder management activities
  • Organize and attend educational and networking events
  • Conduct land, market, regulatory, and related project-level research
  • Compile documentation, attend meetings, conduct necessary studies, and perform other tasks as needed to obtain permits at the local, state, and federal level
  • Assist with efforts to secure critical transmission and interconnection contracts from utilities and transmission providers
  • Prepare proposals that are submitted to power purchasers including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial & industrial customers
  • Support internal reporting and project tracking efforts
  • Additional duties as required

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Energy, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Communications, Public Affairs or a related field
  • 1 - 3 years of progressively responsible project management experience in energy or a related industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software (particularly Teams & Excel)
  • Basic knowledge of Arc GIS; Advanced experience preferred
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (Preferred)
  • Valid driver's license required

Up to 50%. Driver's license required.
