Working title: Business Development - Multifamily Renovation
Location: Dallas, Texas | Florida
Company Details
The company is a licensed general contractor specializing in multifamily capital improvements, apartment renovations, affordable housing, property rehabilitation, and commercial renovation.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced construction business development producer who can generate new project opportunities through an established and portable book of relationships.
This is not an entry-level business development position. The successful candidate must bring relevant industry relationships, evidence of personally generated revenue, and the ability to open doors with organizations that own, manage, develop, renovate, or invest in multifamily and related properties.
The strongest candidates will come from multifamily renovation, affordable housing renovation, adaptive reuse, hospitality renovation, or a closely related construction environment. Florida or Texas is preferred, with Dallas considered a major advantage.
Core Responsibilities
- Generate new construction and renovation opportunities through an existing network.
- Introduce the company to prospective owners, operators, developers, asset managers, property management companies, and other decision-makers.
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of renovation and capital improvement projects.
- Develop new client relationships while expanding opportunities within existing industry relationships.
- Identify projects early and position the company to bid, negotiate, or secure the work.
- Communicate project opportunities, client requirements, timing, and commercial information to internal teams.
- Work effectively with estimating and operational stakeholders during project qualification and pursuit.
- Track personally sourced opportunities, proposals, awarded work, revenue, and pipeline activity.
- Represent the company professionally at industry events, association meetings, and client meetings.
Requirements
- Proven business development or sales experience within multifamily renovations, construction, property rehabilitation, affordable housing, hospitality renovations, adaptive reuse, or a closely related project-based industry.
- Established, transferable book of business with strong industry relationships.
- Demonstrated network capable of generating new business opportunities, beyond an extensive professional or LinkedIn network.
- Proven track record of originating new client relationships and driving new project revenue.
- History of achieving measurable sales results, including annual revenue, awarded project value, contract value, or other quantifiable business development metrics.
- Ability to clearly articulate which client relationships are transferable and the expected timeline for generating new opportunities.
- Strong hunter mentality with a consistent record of opening new accounts, developing new business, and expanding market presence rather than solely managing existing accounts.
- No non-compete or non-solicitation agreements that would restrict the ability to pursue business opportunities or leverage existing relationships within the assigned territory.
- Based in, or possessing strong business connections within, Florida or Texas. Exceptional candidates outside these markets may be considered if they bring a highly transferable and proven book of business.
