Established in 1974, the Texas Renaissance Festival is the nation's largest Renaissance-themed festival, welcoming 500,000 guests annually to Todd Mission, Texas. Our Festival features hundreds of artisans, performers, award-winning food, immersive entertainment, themed attractions, and unique guest experiences across multiple weekends each fall. In addition to the Festival, affiliated operations include weddings, private events, and other year-round experiences.
Position Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new revenue opportunities for the Texas Renaissance Festival and its affiliated operations through corporate sponsorships, strategic partnerships, advertising sales, group sales, and other business development initiatives. This position develops and maintains relationships with corporate partners, tourism organizations, community leaders, and industry professionals to increase revenue, strengthen brand awareness, expand attendance, and support the organization's long-term growth.
Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and execute business development strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Identify, solicit, negotiate, and secure new corporate sponsorships, strategic partnerships, and advertising opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, tourism organizations, chambers of commerce, convention and visitors bureaus, hotels, event professionals, and community partners.
  • Develop sponsorship proposals, partnership presentations, and customized promotional opportunities.
  • Expand corporate outings, group sales, private events, and other revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at networking events, trade shows, community functions, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing & Communications team to promote and fulfill sponsorship and partnership initiatives.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and prepare regular activity and revenue reports.
  • Research market trends and identify opportunities to strengthen the Festival's market presence and long-term growth.
 
Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in business development, corporate sponsorships, partnership development, sales, account management, hospitality, tourism, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business relationships and achieving revenue growth.
  • Strong negotiation, networking, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM software is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Work Schedule

  • Full-time position.
  • Flexible schedule with occasional evenings, weekends, and travel as business needs require.
  • Availability during Festival operating weekends is required.
