Description and Requirements
General Description:
The Benefit Administrator I is responsible for preparing accurate and timely insurance quotes to support brokers and sales teams. This role works closely with carriers, underwriters, and internal partners to ensure competitive pricing, guidelines, and a smooth quoting process from request through delivery.
Responsibilities:
  • Review, analyze, and prepare information for small and large group RFP's across multiple states.
  • Process carrier quotes through carrier systems, Rating HUB, or direct submission to carriers.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of state-specific and carrier-specific quoting requirements.
  • Create and manage portals for IMQ collection; monitor completion status and communicate updates to the broker or AE.
  • Review carrier proposals for accuracy and completeness.
  • Track quote status and follow up with carriers to meet deadlines and service-level expectations
  • Organize and present quotes in a clear, professional format for the broker or AE.
  • Provide regular status updates to broker or internal staff on quotes, underwriting progress, and outstanding requirements.
  • Create and maintain accurate census spreadsheets in carrier-required formats.
  • Update the client database on an ongoing basis and create/maintain case files containing critical client information in accordance with established workflows.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure service and turn-around times meet Emerson Rogers standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers and internal staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Entry level position. 1 year of employee benefits experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED degree required. Bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Familiar with benefit plans a plus. Eager to learn new concepts and further professional development.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel. Includes experience with data entry, formatting, and formulas.
