Job description

Job summary
As an Enterprise Account Manager at Transportation One, you'll lead a pod of Account Managers focused on growing strategic customer relationships, increasing share of wallet, and driving revenue and gross margin growth.
You'll own key enterprise accounts, lead customer strategy, manage quoting and RFP activity, and partner closely with Sales, Pricing, Procurement, and Operations to deliver results.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the freight market, and wants to directly impact customer growth and business performance.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a pod of Account Managers
  • Coach quoting strategy, customer engagement, account growth, and commercial execution
  • Drive revenue, volume, and gross margin growth across strategic accounts
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Lead customer calls, QBRs, RFP participation, and account growth initiatives
  • Manage spot quoting, transactional opportunities, and contractual awards
  • Use freight market intelligence to identify opportunities and improve customer strategy
  • Maintain pipeline discipline, forecasting, and CRM hygiene in HubSpot
  • Partner closely with Sales, Pricing, Procurement, Operations, and Accounting teams
  • Support onboarding, account implementation, and operational alignment
  • Drive accountability, process improvement, and performance management within the pod

Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of freight brokerage or 3PL experience with strong exposure to account growth or enterprise account management
  • Proven success growing accounts through quoting, customer strategy, and relationship development
  • Strong understanding of freight market dynamics, pricing, and carrier strategy
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience preferred
  • Strong customer-facing communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience managing quoting activity, RFPs, and margin performance
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally across Sales, Pricing, Operations, and Procurement
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in CRM systems and managing performance through KPIs
  • Growth-minded, competitive, and motivated to develop into senior leadership roles

Working conditions
General office environment. Work is generally performed in a seated position with a high volume of computer screen reading, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard equipment available.
Onsite presence at Transportation One's Chicago HQ is required.
