Position Overview:

As an Enrollment Counselor at Galen College of Nursing, you will assist prospective students through the process of making informed decisions to meet their educational goals. The counselor serves as the main point of contact for students throughout the enrollment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on inquiries through phone calls, emails, web chat, and social media platforms.
  • Utilize Recruit and Colleague to input data and document follow-up with prospective students.
  • Provide in-depth information on on-campus programs and give tours to prospective students.
  • Notify students of acceptance into the program, welcoming them to the college.
  • Reiterate the level of commitment and time required to be successful in their outlined program of study, sharing further details and answering questions as needed.
  • Ensure students are oriented to program expectations and policies.
  • Guide students through the enrollment process including:
  • Continuously follow up with the students to ensure all documentation is received as required.
  • Making sure the student understands and agrees with the transfer credit awarded
  • Verifying all pre-requisite rules are met, including immunizations and background screenings.
  • Meeting with students to explain and have them sign the enrollment agreement.
  • Understand and maintain current knowledge of college policies and processes and relevant accrediting and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Provide guidance regarding securing the required paperwork needed for financing their education.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of an earned baccalaureate degree, preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of education. Prior experience in higher education, student recruitment, retention, or marketing preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and technical skills.
  • Confident presence and customer-friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Prior experience with Recruit and/or Colleague preferred.
