Job Description:
The Stephen C. O'Connell Center, UF's premier multi-purpose arena and home to Gator Athletics, concerts, and major events, seeks a motivated student or OPS worker for an Employee Relations Intern role for Fall 2026. This hands-on opportunity is ideal for students pursuing careers in HR, sport or event management, or business.
Role Overview:
  • Support employee relations for a large, event-driven workforce by:
  • Assisting with onboarding and orientation
  • Maintaining documentation and HR compliance
  • Coordinating staff communications
  • Supporting engagement and recognition initiatives

Qualifications:
  • Interest or coursework in HR, business, or related fields
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Canva/Adobe experience preferred

Details:
Gain real-world experience in a high-energy venue hosting hundreds of events annually, where your work directly impacts staff operations. Full-time (40 hrs/week) preferred; part-time considered. This is a paid internship; housing, transportation, and parking are not provided. Interns must follow UF standards.
Expected Salary:
$15.50/hour after probationary period ($14.00/hour during probationary period)
Required Qualifications:
This position is open to anyone who is interested in an internship in an exciting environment.
Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Comfort working in a fast-paced, event-based environment
Preferred:
Experience with Canva or the Adobe Suite is preferred
