About the Opportunity 

This role will support an IT Customer Success and Enablement group, driving internal customer success and technology enablement to minimize disruption, enhance productivity, and improve the employee experience. The IT Communications Specialist will partner with Instructional Designers/eLearning Developers to create content and communications that support the global IT learning enterprise.

SweetRush is seeking a Communications Specialist to support the eight key IT service areas:

  • Learning & Enablement – Instructional design, enterprise knowledge sharing, learning facilitation and delivery, project management, and learning surveys/evaluation
  • Organizational Change Management – Strategic advising, change impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, and standards for IT Audit compliance
  • Communications & Campaigns – Technical writing and editing to create engaging content reaching over 28,000 end users via IT News, IT Viva Engage Community, Events & Notices, and Email campaigns
  • End User Events – Planning and executing events to maximize attendance and engagement while driving adoption of IT initiatives
  • Graphic & Experience Design – Visual identity concepts, digital signage, and campaign assets to support IT projects and initiatives
  • IT Sites – Sites and pages developed for IT projects to provide enhanced user experiences and successful product adoption
  • IT Continuous Improvement – Identifying key process improvement opportunities and enhancing customer value through community listening and measurement
  • Business & Community Engagement – Partnering with the business exchange community and systems managers to bring awareness and drive adoption of IT offerings
Location: United States - Onsite in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metropolitan area 
Contract Type: W2 Hourly Contract
Project Duration: June 2026 to December 31, 2026, with a possible 1-year extension
Project Capacity: 40 hours per week

Partner with Instructional Designers/eLearning Developers to create content supporting the global IT learning enterprise: 

  • Partner with IT team Leads, the IT team, and project stakeholders to plan and prepare communications for IT technology enhancements, new solutions, company mergers, or other changes that impact end users.
  • Develop end-user communications, including news articles, internal social media content, email campaigns, executive communications, and user surveys for enterprise-wide channels and targeted campaigns.
  • Help drive the timely delivery of communication deliverables through ongoing contributions to the team’s content planning calendar.
  • Ideate and develop materials to support the company’s leveraging of AI tools and agents for improved team processes, scalability, and content quality.  
  • Partner with IT leads called IT CSEs and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and clarity when preparing and editing content for learning offerings, such as live events, learning labs, or eLearning courses.
  • Partner with the IT CSE design team to design and develop digital campaigns that will be displayed globally in on-site locations.
  • Provide recommendations to project teams on effective communication tactics and channels that meet project objectives and align with CSE standards.
  • Prepare presentations, facilitate discussions, and support project leads with presentation delivery in IT-hosted meetings or other forums.
  • Partner with CSE Leads to design, analyze, and prepare reports on listening and measurement initiatives, including employee surveys, training completion reports, and project metrics. 

​​​​What You Bring - Required Skills 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with a major in Communications, English, Creative Writing, or other relevant education.
  • 3+ years’ experience in internal communications, ideally focused on writing on IT/technology topics and content development.
  • Strong writing and editing skills are required, and the use of generative AI tools to support development.
  • Effectiveness in collecting communication requirements and content from project collaborators.
  • Fluency with computers and digital technology, including the Microsoft 365 app suite.
  • Comfort working with technology or other technical subject matter, as required.
  • Technical writing, corporate social media posting, and search engine optimization (SEO) skills are a plus.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with graphic design or digital tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Background in event planning or end-user enablement programs
  • Familiarity with IT Audit compliance standards and documentation
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated industry
  • Knowledge of enterprise learning platforms (LMS) and eLearning development tools
