Job Title: Electrical Control Panel Design Engineer

Job ID: 107255

Position Type: Fulltime

Location: Milpitas, CA


Responsibilities:

  • Support Engineer-To-Order (ETO), sustaining, and continuous improvement projects for complex capital equipment.
  • Design and modify electrical schematics, electrical control panels and wiring diagrams.
  • Specify and integrate power and control components, including circuit breakers, relays, PLCs, and interlocks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Software, Process, Manufacturing, Operations, Field Service) to define product development requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot and support electrical systems during build, test, and production phases.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings and documentation through the Veeco ECO process.
  • Ensure compliance with industry operating and safety standards, including SEMI, UL, and CE.
  • Assist in developing test plans and release documents for new features and designs.
  • Participates in new product design, upgrade, obsolescence, and sustaining development activities utilizing AutoCAD, including engineering drawing creation and changes, as well as BOM and ECN/ECO creation.

Qualifications:

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of related experience; or MS Degree with 3 years of experience is required.

Experience designing for capital equipment systems is required.


Highly Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience designing electrical systems for complex equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with electrical troubleshooting, analog/digital circuits, and power distribution.
  • Knowledge of safety interlock systems, regulatory requirements & safety standards, (e.g., NFPA 79, SEMI, UL, CE) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage complex projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.



Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $88000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $134000 per year

Compensation and Benefits

A candidateโ€™s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
