Job Summary


Industrial Power Solutions, a Sundt Company, is a leading electrical manufacturing and automation contractor specializing in custom UL 508A control panels, power distribution equipment, and engineered automation solutions for industrial facilities. From concept and design through manufacturing, testing, startup, and commissioning, we deliver high-quality electrical solutions that keep critical industries operating.


We are seeking an experienced Panel Designer to join our growing Electrical Manufacturing team. This position is responsible for designing industrial control systems, developing PLC and HMI programs, supporting panel fabrication, and assisting with startup and commissioning. Key Responsibilities

• Design UL 508A industrial control panels, electrical schematics, and panel layouts.

• Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs for industrial automation systems.

• Create and maintain electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software.

• Select electrical components and ensure designs comply with UL 508A, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards.

• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and panel shop teams throughout project execution.

• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support.


Minimum Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial controls, automation, or control systems engineering.

• Experience designing UL 508A industrial control panels.

• Experience programming PLC and HMI systems.

• Ability to read and modify electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control drawings.

• Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and electrical components.

• Experience using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

• Work in both office and electrical manufacturing environments.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds as needed.

• Occasional travel to customer facilities for startup and commissioning.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when working in manufacturing or field environments.
