Job description

ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

We are a fast-growing, fun company that provides superior machinery for recycling, reduction, and material handling solutions to our broad range of customers covering industries from plywood & veneer to wire & cable, and more.

Join our engineering team and work on unique, custom-engineered projects from concept through startup. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, manufacturing personnel, and customers to create electrical designs that become real-world machines.


What Youโ€™ll Do :

  • Design electrical systems for custom industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and interconnect drawings.
  • Design industrial control panels and power distribution systems.
  • Select electrical components and prepare bills of material.
  • Size and specify circuit protection devices, transformers, power supplies, motor starters, VFDs, and servo systems.
  • Develop machine safety circuits and control architectures.
  • Create and maintain documentation using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Support panel fabrication and machine assembly teams.
  • Assist with commissioning and startup activities when required.
  • Work directly with internal teams to develop practical design solutions.

What You Bring:

  • Experience designing industrial control systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical CAD software.
  • Understanding of industrial electrical systems and machine controls.
  • Knowledge of UL 508A, NFPA 79, NEC, and IEC 60204-1.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical specifications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working for an OEM, machine builder, systems integrator, or industrial manufacturer.
  • Familiarity with CE-marked machinery.
  • PLC hardware familiarity.
  • PLC programming experience.


Special Requirements:

  • Be able to work in a drug-free environment.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and health screening, as well as random drug tests.
