Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in software development, application engineering, backend or frontend systems, technical problem-solving, code review, and structured software workflow evaluation.

This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on software development review, technical workflow assessment, code and system reasoning, application logic evaluation, documentation review, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply their software engineering expertise to review realistic technical scenarios, evaluate software-related outputs, prepare structured written feedback, and support accurate, evidence-based development workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Professionals in this role may contribute to:

Software Development & Technical Review

  • Review software development scenarios involving application logic, code structure, debugging, system behavior, and technical implementation decisions
  • Evaluate software outputs against source requirements, technical constraints, expected functionality, and documented review criteria
  • Support structured review of backend, frontend, full-stack, platform, or application development workflows
  • Identify missing requirements, logic issues, implementation gaps, and expected software review outcomes

Code, Systems & Engineering Workflow Assessment

  • Review materials involving APIs, databases, application architecture, integrations, testing, deployment, configuration, and development workflows
  • Evaluate technical recommendations for clarity, correctness, feasibility, maintainability, and alignment with professional engineering standards
  • Support structured review of technical documentation, code explanations, design notes, bug reports, system diagrams, and implementation plans
  • Prepare clear written explanations for software-related conclusions based on source materials and verifiable criteria

Quality Review & Structured Feedback

  • Annotate, label, or validate software-related materials across development, debugging, testing, and technical evaluation use cases
  • Provide structured feedback on technical accuracy, code quality, workflow realism, and engineering reasoning
  • Apply professional judgment to scenarios involving software systems, developer tools, product requirements, and technical tradeoffs
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and strong review standards across submitted work

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in software development, software engineering, application development, full-stack engineering, backend engineering, frontend engineering, platform engineering, or related technical roles
  • Background in one or more areas such as web applications, APIs, backend services, frontend development, databases, cloud systems, developer tools, testing, or software architecture
  • Familiarity with workflows involving requirements review, implementation planning, debugging, code review, technical documentation, testing, and deployment
  • Comfort reading and preparing software artifacts such as code snippets, design notes, API documentation, bug reports, implementation plans, test cases, and technical summaries
  • Strong analytical thinking and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate software development workflows into clear, structured task documentation

Educational Background

  • A degree or professional background in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, information technology, data systems, or a related technical field is helpful
  • Equivalent practical experience in software development, application engineering, technical review, systems work, or developer-focused project work is also highly relevant

Nice to Have

  • Experience with languages or frameworks such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, Go, Ruby, PHP, React, Node.js, Django, Flask, Next.js, or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, databases, APIs, CI/CD workflows, Docker, Linux, testing frameworks, Git, system design, or production debugging
  • Experience preparing or reviewing technical documentation, code review comments, architecture notes, implementation plans, test cases, or software QA materials
