JOB TITLE: CONTENT DEVELOPER II

DEPARTMENT: FLIGHT OPERATIONS

REPORTS TO: FLIGHT OPERATIONS TRAINING MANAGER

CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT

CLEARANCE: SECRET

LOCATION: BLACKSTONE, VA

Job Summary:

The Content Developer II is responsible for the continued buildup and development of the content creation function supporting Training and Standardization. This role develops and manages high-quality training and standardization content to support safe, consistent, and compliant Group 3+ UAS operations for Platform Aerospace. The role would develop new content, help establish content standards, and manage projects that advance the maturity and effectiveness of the Training department. This position works closely with Flight Operations, Maintenance, and Standardization teams to ensure training materials accurately reflect operational procedures and best practices. Some travel is required.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support the stand-up and growth of the Training and Standardization content creation function.
  • Design, develop, and maintain training and standardization content supporting UAS flight operations.
  • Create concepts and proposals for initial and future training projects that advance the Training department.
  • Manage and deliver content projects from concept through completion, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Develop visual, written, and multimedia training materials aligned with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standardization requirements.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across Flight Operations, Maintenance, and Standardization to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Support training delivery efforts as needed, including revisions, updates, or instructor support.
  • Maintain version control and audit-ready documentation for training and standardization materials.
  • Ensure content adheres to internal standards, security requirements, and operational guidance.
  • Travel to operational or training sites as required to support content development and training initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.


Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required and 2+ years of relevant aviation experience, including Group 3 UAS operations or comparable aircraft operations.
  • 1 year of experience in standardization, evaluation, training, or operational oversight role.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
  • 2 years of experience creating, editing, and managing training or operational content.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of aviation or UAS operational concepts and terminology.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex operational information into clear, effective training content.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and standardization.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across technical and operational teams.
  • Ability to follow structured documentation standards and version‑control practices.
  • Comfortable learning new software, tools, and technical systems quickly.
  • Able to travel up to 75%.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of training or a degree in aviation, engineering, or a related field.
  • Military flight experience is highly desirable.
  • Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
  • Private Pilot License (PPL).
  • Experience supporting training or standardization programs within a government or contractor environment.
  • Experience with e-learning tools (Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.).
  • Graphic design or multimedia editing experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, video editing).


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a DOT physical.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
    • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
    • Perceiving differences in wire and indicator light colors
    • Operating hand and power tools
    • Lifting, carrying, and/or moving tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Working in confined spaces and around aircraft
    • Ascending and descending ladders or stairs as required


The annual base salary range for this position is $67,000.00 to $86,000.00. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education and training, job-related knowledge and skills, the scope and level of responsibility of the position, internal equity, and market/business considerations. The listed range is a general guideline and may vary based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and work location, where applicable.
