Position Description

The Sanneh Foundation is looking for two dynamic Conway Community Center Lead Educators for Conwayโ€™s K-5 Summer enrichment program (Summer Splash). We are looking for two lead educatorsโ€”one leading STEM education and one leading art education. This role is for the summer June โ€“ August, with the possibly of extension into our year round afterschool program.

The Lead Educators are responsible for designing and delivering high quality, hands-on, academic enrichment education.


Their primary role will be to develop and implement all learning and development-focused programming for youth participants. This includes 1) curriculum development that meets educational standards and promotes social-emotional learning; 2) planning and implementing enrichment activities for school-age participants; 3) workforce and career mentorship/development of early professional youth workers, leadership training.


Schedule: 40 hours per week. Shifts are scheduled within an 8:00 AM โ€“ 6:30 PM window to cover core educational delivery and daily preparation. Specific shift times may vary based on program needs.


This individual will collaborate with the Sanneh youth-centered team including the Conway Community Center Director and other Program Managers of Athletics in assisting with the planning, design, implementation, organization, marketing, setup, supervision, and garnering resources needed to lead Sannehโ€™s core enrichment programs and initiatives.


Role and ResponsibilitiesProgram Development and Implementation
  • Responsible for drafting the educational content, selecting evidence-based curricula, and following the "scope and sequence" of Summer Splash activities

  • Lead Summer Splash daily activities in either art or STEM.

  • Manage and supervise youth during weekly field trips to local parks, museums, or attractions. This requires high vigilance and strict adherence to the "name-to-face" attendance protocol

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to on-site youth workers and support them in delivering educational content

  • Oversee scheduling of youth workers assisting in the program.

  • Collaborate with the Conway Community Center Director to identify and help secure third-party programming opportunities that could be implemented within the Conway Community Center.

  • Monitor, provide feedback, and make adjustments to enrichment programming as needed.

  • Follow a continuous learning and improvement cycle.

  • Support the evaluation of programs (in partnership with the Director of Research and Evaluation) on a continual basis and ensure programs/activities respond to community needs, or of high quality, and make the intended impact.

  • Oversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements, and any problems/issues.


Operations
  • Act in accordance with Sannehโ€™s Youth Safeguarding policies

  • Manage the secure arrival and dismissal of youth participants, ensuring authorized pick-up procedures are strictly followed and attendance is logged in real-time.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for behavioral issues, medical incidents, or facility emergencies. This includes documenting incidents and communicating with parents as needed.

  • Oversee the logistics of moving groups between activities (e.g., from the classroom to the cafeteria or field) to minimize downtime and maintain supervision ratios.

  • Support Conway Community Center operations as neededโ€”e.g. work the front desk, support cleaning classrooms, assist other programs as needed.


Relationships

  • Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Conway Director, Education Program Manager, Programming and Facility staff (professionals and volunteers).

  • External: Maintain contact as needed with external community groups/partners, schools, member's parents, and others to assist in resolving problems and promoting programming occurring at the Conway Community Center.



Required Education & Qualifications

  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making.

  • High energy with the ability to support learning t, and a focus on equityโ€”ensuring kids of all abilities and backgrounds feel they belong.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic working environment.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, community groups, and partner organizations.

  • Strong computer and technology skills including Microsoft Office Programs, and Google Suite.

  • Mentorship skills

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited higher education institution.

  • Minimum of three (2) years of experience developing and managing educational programs including:

  • Design

  • Implementation

  • Partnership Development

  • Experience in building partnerships with internal and external constituents in a diverse community.

  • Experience developing and leading enrichment programming for youth.

  • Experience developing and leading workforce/career development programming for youth and emerging adults.


Preferred Education & Qualifications

  • Teaching degree and/or relevant experience in an educational setting.
