Salary: $48-50,000/year

This position serves Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden, and Jefferson Counties and requires some travel.

Scope of Position: Act as community-based, point of contact on all outreach activities throughout the Capital Region. Actively outreach, recruit, and enroll eligible adults and youth into appropriate programs. Independently communicate and build strong relationships with key partners in the Capital Region to deliver services to eligible individuals.

Essential Functions

  • Develop rapport with and connect jobseekers to opportunities through presence at community partner sites
  • Oversee the schedule and activities of the mobile career van
  • Coordinate events with Career Center staff and community partners at locations throughout all three counties
  • Assess individual's needs to determine eligibility for services
  • Coordinate referrals and complete program registration and services for eligible individuals
  • Provide support services to eligible participants based on need
  • Maintain a database of all customers; keep detailed documentation of all contacts
  • Encourage use of virtual services such as workshops and Employ Florida
  • Provide technical support for individuals who need support creating accounts on Employ Florida
  • Successfully collaborate with partners across counties for seamless service delivery
  • Evolve recruitment strategy over the contract period to ensure goals are met
  • Responsible for data tracking of services provided and utilization of the state system of record, Employ Florida. Data capture is a daily responsibility
  • Responsible for weekly progress reports to the Career Center Manager
  • Implement project management skills, tools, and methods
  • Demonstrate fluid approach to work and actively be part of continuous improvement
  • Other opportunities as available

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, document visits and contacts
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
  • Use language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor requirements change
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, or related area is preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in providing career development assistance
  • Must have notable experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Florida Workforce Professional Certification Tier I required (must be completed within 30 days of employment)
  • Valid driver's license and an automobile
