Director, E-Commerce Commercial & Capabilities Excellence

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced and highly motivated Director, E-Commerce Commercial & Capabilities Excellence to join our team to drive industry leading results in one of the fastest growing and exciting channels of CPG.   This position influences all Nestle USA divisions to build and execute eCommerce and Omnichannel capabilities that will progress the entire portfolio of brands across all retailers.   The role will have a heavy focus on scaling industry-leading eCommerce and Digital capabilities at scale, while driving a culture of speed, agility and a test-and-learn mindset.  The Director, E-Commerce Commercial & Capabilities Excellence will require a deep understanding of eCommerce and retailer trends, consumer and shopper behavior, and emerging technologies including AI and Agentic Commerce to drive modern and effective marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will be able to work on and lead multiple projects simultaneously, be able to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities and work closely across functional partners.  

Responsible for setting the strategy and building the capabilities of the ABC function within to deliver a seamless, customer-centric digital shopping experience that drives engagement, conversion, and sales. This role will lead and develop a team to support eCommerce growth goals and collaborate with cross-functional teams, across business units and functions, to drive digital shelf excellence, including but not limited to retailer content performance and syndication, product attribute accuracy, digital tools, measurement and reporting.

This role blends strategic leadership and hands-on analytics execution - ideal for someone who can move fluidly between pulling data, building stories, coaching, and influencing senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy Nestle's eCommerce and Omnichannel Capabilities Roadmap, process documentation, implementation, integration, transition plans, training, and playbooks that will help upskill the whole Nestle USA Organization in eCommerce capabilities, principles, process, and strategy
  • Identify and clearly articulate business challenges and recommend solutions, tools, or capabilities that will drive value across the Nestle USA divisions
  • Serve as the E-Commerce evangelist for priority, investment and elevated consumer experiences across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership
  • Lead multiple eCommerce projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are documented and completed on time, within budget, key metrics are aligned and tracked, and tying it back to the organizational priorities and planning processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to marketing, commercial development, strategic revenue management, finance, and digital technology, to ensure that capability goals are aligned with business objectives
  • Engage with the Nestle Global eCommerce team and eCommerce teams across other markets, global teams, and operating companies to learn, leverage, and share best practices
  • Roll out communication plans on capabilities status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management

  • Partner with enterprise and external partners to push the boundaries of how we create industry leading consumer experiences across all consumer journeys
  • Identify analytics and measurement capability gaps and help lead initiatives to close them

Help Build the Future of eCommerce Measurement

  • Serve as subject matter expert for eCommerce KPIs, analytic frameworks, data, and tools
  • Coach and train teams across the business to better use eCommerce data and analytics to shape strategy and execution
  • Help evolve the Nestle USA eCommerce measurement playbook and reporting ecosystem

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in eCommerce, digital analytics, insights, Commercial Sales, or performance marketing analytics
  • Experience in collaborating with brand teams and agencies to gain a deep understanding of their needs and effectively represent their products on digital platforms
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders to deploy newest best practices in eCommerce and to drive accountability to performance results
  • Build compelling, commercial playbooks to educate internal stakeholders and leadership on the importance and needs of digital shelf and robust training for implementing best practices across all eCommerce tactics
  • Lead and partner on the development and implementation of new tools, technologies, and partnerships for digital shelf tools, agencies
  • Oversee the accuracy and performance of consumer-facing eContent and backend product information
  • Strong understanding of retail and digital performance metrics, KPIs, and frameworks cross E-Commerce tactics and media vehicles, including organic- and retail-paid search
  • Proven ability to analyze, synthesize, and interpret data from multiple sources
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders through data-driven narratives
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, accuracy, and timeliness in delivering insights
  • Ability to push past obstacles, overcome objections, and build advocacy with internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPG or CPG retailer experience
  • Experience with syndicated, retailer, digital shelf, and retail media data and platforms (e.g. Nielsen, Scintilla, Circana, Amazon Vendor Central, Profitero, Stackline, 84.51 etc.)
  • Experience building capabilities that evolve the organization from SEO to Generative Experience optimization and Agentic commerce
