Job description

We are seeking an entry-level IT Project Manager 1 to provide administrative and analytical support to the IT Portfolio Office within the Office of Information Management (OIM). This role focuses on maintaining project information, generating executive dashboards, and analyzing portfolio data to guide key business decisions.

  • Location: Richmond, VA 23219
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (1 2 days per week onsite after initial training)
  • Role Type: Contract (10-Month Estimated Duration)
  • Interview: Webcam or In-Person

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, consolidate, and validate portfolio data to build weekly/monthly reports, executive dashboards, and summary visualizations.
  • Governance & Meetings: Coordinate project governance meetings, prepare reporting materials for leadership, and track follow-up action items.
  • Tooling & Platform Administration: Perform data validation and maintain information within the portfolio management system (ServiceNow).
  • Financial & Intake Monitoring: Track project budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures while supporting intake, planning, and prioritization tasks.
  • Process Improvement: Maintain standard operating procedures, reporting documentation, and identify opportunities to improve data quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Analytics & Detail Orientation: Strong analytical skills, data validation expertise, and high attention to detail.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Administrative & Organizational: Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills to present portfolio performance metrics to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
