About the role
  • This is a high-impact generalist role reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer in a fast-paced technology company. You will be part of a two-person legal team, advising across a wide range of legal issues-from commercial contracts and employment matters to emerging questions regarding AI, ad-tech, gaming, entertainment law, and privacy-while translating complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance that enables the business to innovate quickly and responsibly.

What you'll do
  • Attention to Detail: You have exceptional attention to detail and strong drafting, research, and critical thinking skills. You will draft and review a broad range of commercial contracts, including SaaS contracts, licensing and influencer contracts, master service agreements, DPAs, website terms, vendor contracts, and strategic partnership contracts.
  • Pragmatic Business Judgment: You can strategically and creatively analyze real-world risks and generate pragmatic and effective business-minded solutions as part of a company that champions innovation and continuous growth.Your job while require you to advise product and engineering teams on new and existing features, data usage, integrations, and platform functionality with attention to intellectual property, licensing, and regulatory risk.
  • Breadth and Flex: You have the flexibility to juggle a wide range of legal matters-including commercial contracting, employment issues, advertising compliance, corporate governance, IP, and emerging technology issues. You are also comfortable rolling up your sleeves and working on execution-level tasks (no job too big, no job too small), and can pivot when needed for last-minute requests.
  • Thrives in Ambiguity: You are comfortable operating without a predefined roadmap or template. You can spot issues of first impression, develop practical solutions, and offer recommendations for moving forward, even when information is incomplete or timelines are tight.
  • Low Ego, High Judgment: You work well in an open and high-feedback environment. You are proactive in seeking input and receptive to direct, candid questions and feedback. At the same time, you are not afraid to challenge assumptions or proposed approaches when the legal or business risk calls for it.
  • Effective Communicator: You can translate complex legal matters into plain language to diverse audiences within and outside the Company, and you interface well with engineers and developers, including our large team based in Bosnia and Serbia. No legalese please!
  • Legal Process Optimization: You are highly organized and enjoy project management. You identify opportunities to improve legal processes and responsibly use AI to enhance efficiency and workflows, and streamline document management and routine legal reviews. You will develop and maintain legal resources, including templates, playbooks, and guidance materials, to help business teams navigate common legal considerations with clear and practical guidance. This role offers a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor and build the infrastructure for the legal department to scale.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic performance and active membership in good standing in a U.S. state bar; law review and/or clerkship experience preferred
  • 4-8 years of experience in-house at a technology company, with a background in ad-tech preferred
  • Attend and fully participate (with video on) in meetings with our Bosnia/Serbia team, sometimes starting at 7 am PST.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, experience, training, and education. The hiring salary range is just one component of the company's total compensation and benefits package for exempt employees.
