Sourcing Project Manager

Location: Hollywood, CA – Hybrid Remote Role

Type: Full-Time

Industry: Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Packaging

Travel: n/a

ABOUT US

sourceM is a rapidly growing product development and sourcing agency specializing in consumer-packaged goods and innovative packaging solutions. Our clients range from emerging startups to global brands, and we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, technically intensive, and market-ready products with speed and precision.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a Sourcing Project Manager to help drive the next phase of growth for our fast-moving product development and sourcing agency. This role requires hands-on experience managing primary and secondary packaging development for consumer brands (food, pet, beauty, home goods, or related) and working with overseas packaging manufacturers and component suppliers.

You will serve as a client partner and own projects end-to-end from concept to tooling, sampling, production, QC, logistics, and final delivery to the client. You will report to our Director of Product Development and will collaborate closely with our leadership team. This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys taking full ownership of their work.

This is a packaging development role. This is not a role developing food, beverage, or other filled-product formulations, or co-manufacturing operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will manage multiple packaging development and factory sourcing projects simultaneously, ensuring progress, quality, and clear communication across all stakeholders.

•   Owning packaging development from concept to tooling, sampling, production, quality control, and logistics

•   Managing orders from placement through final delivery, including pricing verification, manufacturer coordination, production tracking, and problem resolution

•   Coordinating with global packaging suppliers (injection molders, blow molders, glass factories, paperboard converters, flexible film printers, decorators), freelance designers, and engineers

•   Placing and managing first-article samples, pre-production approvals, material and color specs, and project timelines

•   Managing incoming and outgoing samples and maintaining organized project documentation

•   Maintaining a high standard of responsiveness, professionalism, and customer service

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a growing business where priorities move quickly and ownership is expected.

•   Bachelor’s degree required

•   3–6 years of experience in packaging development AND global sourcing/project management for consumer brands

•   Demonstrated end-to-end project ownership from concept to tooling, sampling, production, QC, logistics, and delivery to the client

•   Experience developing rigid and flexible plastic packaging preferred (e.g., injection-molded, blow-molded, thermoformed; PET/HDPE/PP/PS; films and laminates)

•   Working knowledge of tooling and mold development, dielines, color standards/Pantone matching, and decoration methods (silk-screen, hot stamp, offset)

•   Experience working with overseas packaging manufacturers and component suppliers

•   Strong written and verbal communication skills

•   Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail

•   Comfortable managing multiple priorities and solving problems independently

•   Positive, solution-oriented mindset with strong client-service instincts

•   Interest in growing with a small, dynamic company

•   Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a strong plus

YOUR CAPABILITIES

•   Strong project ownership and follow-through

•   Ability to anticipate issues and resolve them quickly

•   Comfort working across time zones and global teams

•   Curiosity and initiative to research and solve complex sourcing or development challenges

•   Experience with PCR resins, mono-material structures, recyclability requirements, or extended producer responsibility (EPR) frameworks preferred

WHY JOIN US?

•   Salary range: $75,000 – $95,000 (based on experience) plus bonus

•   Work with a passionate, collaborative team shaping the future of packaging and consumer products

•   Opportunity to help lead and scale operations in a high-growth environment

•   Competitive compensation, benefits, and room for advancement

•   Hybrid work environment of work from home three days a week and in our dedicated office at The Preserve (Hollywood, CA) two days a week
