Job description

The Sourcing Project Manager leads sourcing activities and supplier management for assigned indirect categories in accordance with company policies and sourcing regulations. Working closely with Engineering, Program Management, and crossfunctional stakeholders, this role supports manufacturing objectives related to capacity, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and corporate social responsibility. Responsibilities include supplier selection, complex contract and cost negotiations, contract management, and issue resolution with critical domestic and international suppliers, as well as conducting QMS audits and supplier site visits. The role also drives process improvements, communicates effectively across all organizational levels, and provides mentorship to lessexperienced team members.

Primary Duties

  1. Manages and coordinates Sourcing/Purchasing activities related to allocated project(s) with a strong emphasis on CAPEX automation projects and associated Spare Parts.
  2. Works in conjunction with Program Management, Engineering, and other internal groups to develop and maintain project plans, including scheduling and milestones. Works with vendor to ensure timelines, quality, and cost objectives are met.
  3. Provides business oversight for projects and makes business decisions, as necessary, to keep project in alignment with quality, cost, and timeline goals.
  4. Shape and lead negotiation strategies that optimize cost competitiveness, guarantee supply capacity, and strengthen risk resilience; oversee contract governance and cultivate highperforming supplier relationships that advance the company's longterm business and operational goals.
  5. Propose and implement risks mitigations plans, identify, and capture opportunities including Purchasing Cost Avoidance Plans.
  6. Drive supplier engagement in the company's preferred sustainability programs, EcoVadis and Science Based Targets Initiatives (SBTi), by onboarding suppliers, monitoring progress, and driving continuous improvement toward corporate CSR goals.
  7. Effectively resolve disputes, hold crucial conversations, recommend solutions to identify the root cause of issues, and correct problems as needed.
  8. Advance strategic sourcing by researching, preparing and presenting to ProCo a high quality category and commodity stategy related to assigned categories.
  9. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor degree required, Business preferred, with 7+ years experience in Purchasing/Procurement with strong emphasis in sourcing, supplier management and contract negotiation
    • OR HS diploma/GED and 11+ years experience in Purchasing/Procurement with strong emphasis in sourcing, supplier management and contract negotiation

Preferred Education, Training and Experience

  1. Proven track record of strong supplier management, with the ability to lead complex negotiations, drive accountability, address difficult issues directly, and maintain constructive, longterm supplier relationships.
  2. Proven ability to lead the endtoend contract lifecycle-crafting highquality agreements, driving effective negotiations, and managing contract compliance and performance to maximize business value.
  3. Demonstrated experience of exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience conveying strategic recommendations, leading discussions, and tailoring messages to executive, crossfunctional, and supplier audiences.
  4. Experience with ISO standard supplier aduting preferred.
  5. Indirect Procurement experience preferred.
  6. Experience in medical/life science industry preferred.

Travel requirements include 10% domestic travel and 10% international travel, for a total of 20% travel.

The estimated salary range for this role based in Utah is between$128,000 -162,500.This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux's bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate's experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
