Job description

Reports to: Director, Legal

Location: Remote US

Compensation Range: $185,000 to $200,000 base plus bonus and equity

What We Do:

Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact.

Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. That's why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers' protection.

Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 11M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other.

What You'll Do:

Huntress is looking for a business-minded Senior Commercial Counsel who sees Legal as a growth enabler: a pragmatic, commercially minded partner who helps the business say "yes" the right way, accelerates revenue, and builds scalable guardrails that let Huntress move faster with confidence. In this role, you will be a trusted legal partner across the business. Your primary focus is to negotiate customer contracts, support vendor agreements, and improve the legal terms and processes that help us move fast and thoughtfully.

This position requires a true warrior spirit. You will manage the inherent chaos of global expansion with clarity, staying unshakeable as you scale the legal framework for our growing footprint. Whether leading complex customer negotiations or using legal AI tools to help us scale, you take deep ownership of the challenges along the way. As an outcome-obsessed teammate, you do not wait for permission to fix things; you spot the hurdles in our growth, show that you give a $h*t about the solution, and clear the path forward to drive measurable business impact.

We need meaningful overlap with our team and partners in Australia, so preference will be given to candidates who live in the Pacific Time zone.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key legal partner across the full business.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate customer agreements, including SaaS subscription agreements, order forms, DPAs, security terms, NDAs, and reseller/channel terms.
  • Support vendor contracting across SaaS, technology, professional services, security, marketing, procurement, and strategic supplier agreements.
  • Partner closely with Sales to accelerate deal cycles while protecting Huntress on privacy, security, liability, indemnity, payment, and operational risk.
  • Maintain, improve, and draft commercial legal templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and self-service resources to streamline workflows as the business scales.
  • Identify opportunities to improve legal operations, including the responsible use of AI and other tools to make contracting faster and more consistent.
  • Support international contracting needs, with an emphasis on APAC overlap and cross-border customer and vendor negotiations.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • 6+ years of legal experience, with several years spent in-house at a fast-growing SaaS, technology, or cybersecurity company.
  • Deep experience drafting and negotiating commercial SaaS agreements, customer terms, reseller/channel terms, DPAs, security addenda, vendor agreements, and related technology contracts.
  • Clear understanding of SaaS business models, recurring revenue, sales cycles, procurement processes, reseller/channel relationships, and customer contracting expectations.
  • Comfort working directly with Sales as a practical, solutions-oriented partner who helps close deals without losing sight of risk.
  • Hands-on experience using or implementing AI tools to make legal operations fast and efficient.
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected with a global leadership team.
  • Deep curiosity and a proactive approach to solving complex, cross-border legal challenges.

What We Offer:

  • 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015
  • Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans
  • 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution
  • Life and Disability insurance plans
  • Stock options for all full-time employees
  • One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office
  • Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance
  • $75 USD/month digital reimbursement
  • Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth
