We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Business Development Manager to drive business development and sales efforts targeting law firms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the legal industry and a proven track record in selling complex solutions to law firms, including legal technology, services, or software. This role is responsible for identifying key opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and delivering revenue growth by positioning our offerings as vital solutions to law firms’ needs.

Some of the things you will be doing:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within law firms, from small boutique practices to large national or global firms. Cultivate a robust pipeline of prospects and close new business deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within law firms, including managing and expanding accounts with both existing and prospective clients.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to understand the legal industry’s needs, challenges, and emerging trends. Use this insight to drive product positioning and sales tactics.
  • Work closely with the product and solution teams to align our offerings with the specific needs of law firms. Deliver consultative sales presentations and product demos that demonstrate the value and ROI of our solutions.
  • Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms that align with company objectives. Navigate complex deal structures, pricing, and legal considerations.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Establish and maintain a strong professional network within the legal community.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need to be successful in this role?

  • 5+ years of sales experience, with at least 1-2 years in a commercial role selling into law firms or other professional services industries (e.g., financial, accounting).
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth through strategic business development and solution-based selling.
  • Deep understanding of the legal services industry, including law firm operations, challenges, and purchasing behaviors.
  • Ability to engage in consultative, solution-oriented selling to understand client needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Strong negotiation skills, including navigating complex contracts and pricing discussions with senior-level clients.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), sales analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience selling legal technology, SaaS, or professional services to law firms.
  • Established network within the legal industry.
  • Experience managing large, complex sales cycles and enterprise-level clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.

At CSC, compensation decisions are dependent on a number of factors including job location and the knowledge and experience of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current base range is $120,000 to $140,000 plus commission.
