Engineering Services plays a critical role at Veeco supporting the different USA locations to deliver documentation for new product introduction, product improvement and cost reduction projects to ensure products are documented properly, changes are controlled and implemented into production efficiently. The Documentation Control Analyst works with moderate supervision to release and update R&D engineering documentation, ensuring document conformance to standards, creating/updating material masters, BOMs and Quality Plans. This position will be required on occasion to support Engineering with basic CAD drafting work using Solid Works and AutoCAD. This position will also be required to interface directly with the engineering teams and functional group engineers across the US to clarify questions relating to the engineering changes.
Job Responsibilities
  • Review Engineering Change Orders for completeness, clarity and conformance to Veeco ECO requirements. Work with engineers as required for corrections. Assist with creation and monitoring of ECO approval routing to Subject Matter Experts
  • Enter data into SAP for Engineering Changes, including creation of new and updating of existing Material Masters and Bills of Material.
  • Conduct batch drawing checks through the use of AI tools to review engineering documentation for conformance to Veeco, ASME, IEEE drafting & parts design standards, working with engineers as required for corrections
  • Complete minor non-design related corrections to documents (ex: Solid Works/ AutoCAD drawings, WORD, EXCEL)
  • Release Engineering Change Orders through SAP and send notification of the changes to all impacted functions, including internal and external. Communicate Engineering Change Notifications and Documentation Packages to Contract Manufacturers and suppliers
  • Support the Veeco Copy Exact program through flagging of CE parts and related engineering and process-of-record manufacturing documents in SAP, ensuring that all ECO's for CE parts comply with the CE-specific ECO requirements, and working with CE Program Managers on communication and customer approval of related changes
  • Review and respond to Engineering Help Desk Tickets for assistance on engineering documentation questions
  • Initiate and implement process changes to improve efficiency and productivity

Skills/Requirements
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in CAD, drafting, technology or mechanical engineering, or related/equivalent
  • 2+ years of documentation control and/or engineering change control process, strong entry level considered
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, preference given to candidates with experience in SAP PLM/ECTR. Candidates with other MRP/ERP or PLM/PDM systems considered
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Solid Works
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products (examples: Excel, Visio, Access, Word)
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Capable of working with x-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Sales, etc.) in a matrixed organizational structure
  • Previous experience in a related industry such as: Semi, high tech, Data storage, capital equipment desired
  • Highly desired:
    • Strong knowledge of SAP Transaction execution highly desired
    • Strong knowledge of SAP PLM (ECTR, check parts in/out; create DIR's)
    • Preference for candidate who is aware of Veeco's Engineering & SAP PLM process.

Salary and BenefitsThe expected salary range for this position is $78,089.00 - $104,119.00, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
