Berendsen Fluid Power, Inc. is one of North America’s largest distributors of hydraulic and pneumatic products and services.  We have an exciting opportunity in the Alberta area.

 DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to establish and grow customer relationships within your territory.

Your Activities Will Include:

  • Develop and implement effective business plans and strategies for assigned account growth, analyze customer base market conditions and forecast future needs.
  • Prospect for new potential accounts as directed by sales management.
  • Set and achieve forecasted growth targets for core product lines.
  • Maintain gross margin to meet forecasted targets and improve gross profit margins as directed by Sales Management
  • Emphasize the sale of economic value added (EVA) services and other gross margin improvements
  • Interact effectively with customers to develop a personal awareness of their operations and needs.
  • Practice and demonstrate “needs driven” selling skills, which includes: understanding the elements of strategic selling, identifying the customers value system and using team selling concepts where appropriate
  • Meet communicate and cooperate with vendor sales representatives
  • Communicate regularly and timely with the FSM and any other personnel regarding performance, complaints, inquires, competitive activities, problems, market conditions or other pertinent information.
  • Cooperate in the movement of obsolete or unwanted inventory as directed by Sales Management.
  • Plan and budget time and administrative activities, control sales related expenses, effectively plan travel as required, understand and be proficient with BFP systems, reinforce the value of distribution to customers and suppliers, submit reports and itineraries as required by sales management in a timely and accurate manner
 QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant must possess a strong work ethic, good people skills, competitiveness, willingness to learn, and be adept at building business relationships.  Additionally, the selected candidate must be knowledgeable of the application and introduction of fluid power products to the OEM markets.  Additionally, the prospect should have a level of electric controls capability that compliments the hydraulic sales effort. This individual must be able to work with engineers and specify parts for new applications. 

REQUIREMENTS:
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Fluid Power Certification or an equivalency of 3 years of experience in specifying products to OEMs is highly preferred
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree is a plus
