As a member of the Rates and Distribution team, a Rates and Distribution Analyst is responsible for analyzing market trends and strategizing rental pricing for multiple markets across the U.S. and Canada. They will act as the operations and distribution expert to support our field teams as they serve more families. This role is responsible for building and maintaining consultative relationships with field leadership by providing frequent Completed Staff Work.

This is a fully onsite position located at our corporate campus in Phoenix, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize transactions and revenue across our truck and trailer rental services. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to determine optimal pricing structures and promotional offers.

  • Optimize local distribution networks by working closely with regional teams to uncover opportunities in their marketing plan. Identify opportunities for consolidation, route optimization, and process improvement to enhance customer satisfaction and increase transactions and gross.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to identify and implement organization wide, productivity enhancing techniques to improve field team efficiency.

  • Set one-way and local rates to maximize the utilization of all rental products.

  • Communicate with regional marketing offices to identify unproductive equipment and help develop plans to redistribute and avoid future pileups.

  • Evaluate and report historical data to provide upper management with essential insights for sound business decisions.

  • Forecast demand for U-Haul products and proactively track outcomes and close the feedback loop on field operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Data Translation: Ability to interpret complex data sets and develop actionable insights. Proficiency in Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables) is required to perform ad-hoc analysis on raw data exports.

  • Strategic Reporting: Experience using Power BI or similar dashboarding tools to monitor KPIs. This role focuses on data-driven decision-making rather than report building or database architecture.

  • Analytical Curiosity: Comfort using No-SQL/GUI-based query tools to retrieve information. You should be a "super-user" who can navigate internal systems to find the "why" behind the numbers.

  • Communication: Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into a headline-driven narrative that is scannable and tailored for executive decision-making.

  • Office & Travel: Ability to work in the Phoenix office 5 days a week with occasional travel.

  • Experience & Education: A degree in Marketing, Analytics, or a related field is a plus. U-Haul experience is a bonus.
