Position Overview:
Role Purpose:
The Distribution/Allocation Analyst is responsible for creating allocation strategies which result in maximized product, digital and store potential. With one direct-report, they are responsible for identifying and building strategies for location-based opportunities to deliver improved margin and a better customer experience. They are responsible for building sizing and packing strategies that support company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Functions:
Development of allocation strategies along with identifying and communicating product/location opportunities.
  • Determine the best allocation strategy to distribute inventory across stores and channels to maximize sales and margin.
  • Support analysis on store clustering by product category for assortment planning and allocation purposes.
  • Weekly monitor classification/style performance at store/channel/size level and adjust allocation strategy to maximize sales opportunities and minimize markdown liability.
  • Attend and participate in on-going meetings with cross functional team to understand product and planning strategy for each category.
  • Develop proficiency in JDA/Blue Yonder allocation to manage and execute all allocation strategies from initial to replenishment allocations.
  • Ensure real estate activity as stores open and maintain an appropriate assortment and inventory level.

Business Analysis (recommend localization strategies, identify potential sizing and packing opportunities):
  • Identify and communicate sales opportunities and stock liabilities by store on a regular basis.
  • Identify localization opportunities (region, climate, location, volume) and present recommendations to the cross-functional team.
  • Perform in-season and post-season analysis to identify future opportunities.
  • Participate in key milestone meetings and bring appropriate analysis and recommendations.
  • Assist in analysis to develop and execute strategies for size and pack.
  • Think strategically by asking good questions and gathering thorough information.
  • Support brand and product initiatives.

Coaching/Developing:
  • Provide ongoing direction to Allocator/Distributor on product and allocation strategy. Including warehouse/new receipts flow and management.

Create and maintain strong partnerships:
  • Approachable and receptive to ideas from others
  • Challenge ideas, theories and processes as needed
  • Provide continuous feedback
  • Deliver on commitment and hold others accountable for the same
  • Share issues/information regarding business to buying and planning teams

Education/Skills and Experience Requirements:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required

Experience:
  • 1-3+ years -related work experience preferred
  • Two years of merchandise planning/distribution experience preferred
  • Some experience in leading others, and influencing with data

Skills:
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software technology.
  • Ability to use MS office suite (excel, word, PowerPoint, outlook).

Pay Range:
Annual Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00
This position is eligible for an annual incentive compensation based on company performance.
