Overview:

The Inventory Planning Manager is responsible for managing aftermarket inventory for both finished goods and raw materials, overseeing supplier performance and optimizing inventory levels to exceed customer expectations of fill metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inventory Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement inventory management strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Determine optimal inventory levels based on demand forecasts, lead times, and inventory costs.
  2. Demand Forecasting & Analysis:
    • Work closely with sales and marketing to understand upcoming demand and market trends.
  3. Supplier & Vendor Coordination:
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective inventory replenishment.
    • Monitor supplier performance to meet lead times and quality standards.
  4. Inventory Optimization:
    • Use software and tools to monitor inventory turnover rates, shelf life, and stock levels.
    • Identify and address inefficiencies in inventory, such as slow-moving stock or obsolete items.
  5. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Lead and mentor inventory planners.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., buyers, business unit leaders, logistics, sales) to align on goals and improve processes.
  6. KPI Tracking & Reporting:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory accuracy, turnover, and supplier performance.
    • Generate regular reports to track performance and communicate findings to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field is required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (i.e. Supply Chain, Inventory Control, or Operations)
  • Proven experience with inventory planning and forecasting tools (Experience with ERP System SyteLine preferred)
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles and best practices in inventory management.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
  • Advanced Excel and Access skills preferred, Power BI proficiency a plus
  • Strong communications skills
