Job Summary:

The Linehaul Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of freight across long distances, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation logistics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize routes for linehaul operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely delivery of freight.
  • Schedule and assign loads to drivers based on availability, capacity, and delivery requirements.
  • Maintain constant communication with drivers, providing them with necessary information and updates regarding routes, schedules, and any changes.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during transit, including delays, equipment breakdowns, and route changes, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
  • Ensure all linehaul operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, route details, and delivery times.
  • Monitor the performance of drivers and transportation equipment, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaise with customers to provide updates on shipment status, address inquiries, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Use dispatch software and GPS systems to track and manage the movement of freight efficiently.
  • Work closely with other departments, including operations, customer service, and warehouse teams, to coordinate and streamline logistics processes.
