Job description

About Basis Health

At Basis Health, we design and deliver industry-best integrated insights that empower strategic decisions and drive the commercialization success of healthcare products. We partner with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies across the full product lifecycle — from early asset development through go-to-market strategy and lifecycle management — helping them bring impactful therapies to the patients who need them most.
Our work is grounded in a clear purpose: to expand and accelerate the positive impact of healthcare products. We are passionate about solving complex problems, uncovering meaningful insights, and contributing to better health outcomes.
As a team, we are guided by the following principles: Integrity, Growth Mindset, Team Orientation, Authenticity, and Sustainability.
Basis Health is part of the larger Basis Group, but operates with the agility and autonomy of a small, entrepreneurial team. As a fast-growing team, we offer a unique opportunity to lead, grow, and make a tangible impact.

About the Role

As a Director or Senior Director at Basis Health, you will serve as a strategic leader and trusted advisor to clients while also helping shape the future of our business. You will lead multi-stream projects across therapeutic areas and stages of the healthcare product lifecycle, ensuring our insights drive both immediate and long-term value.

You will manage project teams, develop talent, and contribute to internal growth and innovation efforts. You’ll also help deepen client relationships, identify account growth opportunities, and play a critical role in building Basis Health’s reputation as a premier insights partner.

Seniority level (Director vs. Senior Director) will be based on experience, impact, and leadership scope.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Manage and mentor high-performing teams across engagements, not just within projects
  • Coach team leads to manage both up and down effectively
  • Adapt leadership style to support individual growth while ensuring client outcomes
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and professional development initiatives for team members

Project & Portfolio Oversight

  • Own project delivery across workstreams: budget, timeline, quality, and strategic direction
  • Ensure all client-facing outputs meet Basis Health’s standards and deliver meaningful insights
  • Serve as a thought partner to team leads, helping problem-solve complex challenges and design efficient, strategic solutions
  • Create and manage systems to balance team workload, prevent burnout, and promote sustainability

Strategic Thinking & Insight Generation

  • Guide teams in connecting project outputs to broader client strategies and commercialization needs
  • Lead the development of frameworks and visual storytelling that elevate insight communication
  • Facilitate client readouts and workshops with clarity, confidence, and executive presence
  • Help shape account-level strategy and apply learnings across clients and project types

Client Engagement & Account Growth

  • Act as a strategic partner to clients beyond the day-to-day, building trust and identifying future needs
  • Lead the development of proposals, project plans, and value-based positioning materials
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for account growth; develop client playbooks and growth strategies
  • Maintain constructive relationships even when navigating complex or challenging dynamics

Internal Contribution & Innovation

  • Drive internal improvement initiatives across project methodologies, operations, or talent development
  • Lead the creation and implementation of training programs or internal team infrastructure
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine company processes and scale best practices
  • Serve as a culture carrier and model of Basis Health’s values

Requirements

Required for Director Level:

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in healthcare consulting, strategy, or insights
  • Demonstrated success leading research/consulting teams and managing multi-stream projects
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships and lead high-level strategic conversations
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare/life sciences market, including commercial and therapeutic context
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Required for Senior Director Level:

  • 10+ years of experience in life sciences insights, strategy, or commercialization consulting
  • Expertise in project and team leadership across diverse methodologies and clients
  • Strong track record of account growth and client relationship management
  • Ability to lead organizational initiatives, coach other leaders, and drive long-term business impact
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and strategic vision in the healthcare space

Benefits

Why Join Basis Health?

  • Impactful, mission-driven work in a high-growth environment
  • Opportunity to shape the business and grow into senior leadership
  • Entrepreneurial culture and close-knit, collaborative team
  • Hybrid work model (3 days per week in office) with offices in NYC and Chicago
  • Competitive salary, bonus potential, and benefits package
