Ability Matters is seeking an experienced executive to lead organizational operations during an exciting period of strategic growth and innovation.

As the Director of Business Operations, you will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team to support long-term organizational success. This role combines executive leadership, financial oversight, operational strategy, data analytics, and innovation to ensure our organization continues delivering exceptional services while preparing for future growth.

What You'll Do

Drive Organizational Strategy

Partner with executive leadership to implement strategic initiatives, evaluate expansion opportunities, and translate long-term vision into measurable operational outcomes.

Lead Operational Excellence

Develop key performance indicators, optimize organizational processes, lead process improvement initiatives, and promote accountability across departments.

Strengthen Financial Performance

Collaborate with the CEO and CFO to support budgeting, revenue optimization, management, productivity analysis, and long-term financial sustainability.

Champion Technology & Innovation

Lead organizational technology initiatives, AI implementation, automation strategies, operational reporting, and analytics that improve organizational performance.

Develop Organizational Leaders

Provide strategic oversight and accountability to administrative departments while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

The Director of Business Operations is expected to maintain an active presence in Ability Matters' service delivery by providing 8-10 hours of direct service, or approved field engagement, each week.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred)

  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience

  • Demonstrated success leading multiple departments and organizational initiatives

  • Strong financial management and operational analysis experience

  • Experience implementing enterprise technology and process improvement initiatives

  • Knowledge of healthcare, Medicaid, or human services operations preferred

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and executive decision-making skills
