Resort Night Manager on Duty
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Resort Night Manager on Duty. The Resort Night Manager on Duty (MOD) is a working Guest Services leadership position responsible for overseeing Front Desk operations while serving as the primary operational leader for the resort during 2nd shift. This role leads by example, actively assisting guests and associates while ensuring exceptional service, efficient operations, and seamless communication across all resort departments.
In this role, this leader supports the Front Desk team during peak arrival periods, responds to guest concerns, makes operational decisions, and partners with department leaders to maintain a safe, organized, and guest-focused resort environment. The Night MOD balances hands-on Guest Services responsibilities with resort-wide leadership to ensure operational excellence throughout the evening.
As part of our leadership team, you'll embody our Promise to Lead with Love-guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You'll ensure every guest receives a warm, personalized, and seamless experience from arrival to departure. Through leading and supporting the resort team, you help create a positive work environment that empowers associates to exceed guest expectations at every touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a working leader for the Guest Services team, providing hands-on support during peak check-in and guest service periods.
  • Act as the primary Manager on Duty for the resort during 2nd shift, supporting all operational departments.
  • Lead by example while coaching and developing Guest Services associates.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, utilizing service recovery when appropriate.
  • Respond to operational issues, emergencies, and associate needs throughout the resort.
  • Conduct regular resort walks to ensure cleanliness, safety, security, and brand standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with Security, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure seamless evening operations.
  • Complete shift reports, document incidents, and communicate key operational updates to the leadership team.

What We're Looking For
  • You must have a broad understanding of the tourism industry and the day-to-day functions of all aspects of a resort.
  • Seeking 2-5 years' experience from a smaller property (under 500 rooms) manager or a large property (over 500 rooms) supervisor.
  • Previous use of a Property Management System.
  • Significant guest resolution, guest conflict, and positive service recovery experience.
  • An attention to detail, organized, forward-thinking, and motivate individuals.
  • Experience with scheduling 10 or more associates.
  • Proven experience in teaching others.
  • Someone with a fun and engaging personality.
