POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Sales Enablement is responsible for improving sales effectiveness through best-in-class onboarding, training, coaching, content development, and field enablement programs. This leader will ensure the sales organization possesses the knowledge, skills, tools, and resources necessary to effectively communicate the company’s value proposition and achieve revenue objectives.

The Director will work closely with Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Marketing, Customer Success (Clinical), and Product teams to build scalable enablement programs that drive performance, accelerate ramp time, and improve field execution.

This is an ideal role for an experienced Sales training and enablement professional wanting to continue their work with high-performing sales teams driving acute care, multi level hospital medical device sales which require each team member be able to communicate clinical and economic value, including ROI, to diverse stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Sales Enablement Strategy
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales enablement strategy aligned with commercial objectives.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to identify performance gaps and enablement opportunities.
  • Create programs that improve sales productivity, effectiveness, and revenue generation.
Sales Training & Onboarding
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve onboarding programs for new sales employees.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive training curricula, learning pathways, and certification programs.
  • Facilitate instructor‑led, virtual, and field‑based training programs.
  • Manage training schedules, logistics, communications, and program execution.
Sales Content & Tools
  • Develop and maintain sales playbooks, competitive intelligence resources, objection‑handling guides, and customer‑facing tools.
  • Ensure field teams have access to current product, clinical, competitive, and market information.
  • Translate marketing messaging into practical sales conversations and customer engagement tools.
Ongoing Sales Development
  • Develop quarterly training programs focused on sales skills, product knowledge, clinical education, and competitive positioning.
  • Establish continuous learning initiatives to support professional development and commercial excellence.
  • Drive adoption of best practices throughout the sales organization.
Field Coaching & Performance Improvement
  • Travel with field representatives to assess execution and identify coaching opportunities.
  • Provide direct feedback and recommendations to improve customer interactions and sales performance.
  • Partner with sales managers to reinforce training and coaching initiatives.
Enablement Operations & Measurement
  • Utilize CRM and LMS platforms to track training completion, effectiveness, and sales performance metrics.
  • Establish KPIs to measure training impact, onboarding effectiveness, and productivity improvements.
  • Analyze performance data and adjust programs accordingly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure consistent messaging and field readiness.
  • Collaborate with Product, Clinical Affairs, and Sales Leadership to support product launches and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary enablement liaison across commercial functions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Education, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in sales enablement, sales training, sales leadership, or commercial excellence roles.
  • Demonstrated success designing and delivering sales training programs.
  • Experience developing onboarding curricula, certification programs, and sales methodologies.
  • Healthcare, medical device, diagnostics, biotechnology, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with CRM and LMS platforms.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 60%.
Technical Skills
  • CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities (Excel, PowerPoint, KPI dashboards).
