Your Team, Your Impact

Marvell's Supply Chain Planning Organization is seeking a talented Director with excellent technical and analytical skills and a deep understanding of leading-edge semiconductor process and packaging manufacturing technology, sourcing methods, product yield and overall cost structure. You'll collaborate with global cross-functional teams including Foundry Engineering, Product and Test Engineering, Finance, Business Units and Supply Chain to identify opportunities for improvement to sourcing methods and sourcing costs, product level yield improvement opportunities and drive a cross functional effort to translate ideas into projects and changes to support corporate gross margin goals. Marvell's product portfolio includes standard and customer-specific products for leading-edge AI, Datacenter and Cloud, Carrier, Enterprise, and storage applications.
The successful candidate will lead/play an active role in driving a cross functional task force to identify opportunities related to product and technology specific foundry and OSAT sourcing costs, product yields, benchmarking against best-in-class industry methods, and drive a company-wide roadmap to implement changes both at the product level and to business processes with the right trade-offs to reduce cost and improve Gross Margins.

What You Can Expect

  • This is a high visibility role with exposure to senior leadership. Successful candidate will identify systemic improvement to operations/sourcing approaches and tradeoffs and drive changes across the company to improve overall business practices with the ultimate goal of improving the overall gross margins.
  • Drive cross functional teams with Supply Chain, Finance, Operations Engineering, Business Units, and Central Engineering teams to enable systematic improvements to gross margins by developing, consolidating and managing business process changes.
  • Actively participate in cross functional business reviews to understand cost implications to decisions made during product development and operations related decision making and their impact on overall margins
  • Lead cross-functional cost reviews to report actual versus target costs, risks and opportunities and align senior management team to status, roadmap and risks.
  • Contribute to cost modelling, establish and refine product cost targets from early development stages and use them to drive changes.
  • Identify and manage all aspects of the financial health of targeted semiconductor products from early ideation and design stages all the way through the end of life of the product.
  • Ensure that best practices for cost management are shared across different teams and changes are successfully implemented.

What We're Looking For

  • BS or higher in Engineering, Science, or related fields with 10-15 years of related professional experience or Masters/Ph.D. in Engineering/Science with 5-10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry
  • 5+ years of experience in product operations related role in a Fabless semiconductor company or an integrated device manufacturer is required.
  • Knowledge of Semiconductor Manufacturing and its Supply Chain and the cost structure of semiconductor process and packaging technology and the various tradeoffs to meet product cost and profitability
  • Experience working with teams with diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills from first principles and the ability to communicate effectively across the organization is critical.
  • Excellent data analysis skills with a statistical mindset are needed to identify correlations between product cost, sourcing costs, performance and margins.
  • Solid understanding of yield/test methodologies and foundry/packaging related issues and associated cost impacts and cost modeling is needed.
  • High level software skills to automate data pulls and generating automated reports to drive indicators and programs is desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills are required with an ability to succinctly summarize key indicators, results and risks to senior management.
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team involving design, finance, supply chain, operations engineering to identify opportunity to change/enhance current methods and get executive leadership commitment and drive them to closure.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

160,200 - 240,000, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
