Job Description:

Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of programs and projects in support of GPS business area. Drives program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. Participate in the negotiation of contracts, preparation of proposals, preparation of business and program plans, development Statements of Work and be responsible for the profit/loss of assigned programs. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications. Must possess excellent communication/presentation skills and be able to work effectively with diverse personalities and various levels of management. Travel will be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with general oversight or direction.
  • Responsible for managing product development, product sustainment, and product production.
  • Experience with DoD-related programs in progressively more responsible technical and program leadership positions.
  • Maintain constant awareness of program objectives, plans, schedules, upcoming events, risks, issues, changes and change-control, and current performance status.
  • Assure customer commitments are met, and program assets are effectively managed.
  • Maintain constant vigilance in all day-to-day activities to assure proactive management of risk, issues, and changes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal program procedures and project control system guidelines.
  • Communicates within and outside of the organization which includes larger customers or vendors.
  • Ability to travel, approximately 30% annually.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prior program management, proposal management and EVMS experience.
  • Prior aerospace and defense industry experience.
  • Experience leading transition to production, and full rate production programs.Formal training in Project Management, including PMP certification is preferred.
  • Ability to construct and manage to a WBS & SOW.
  • Develop integrated master schedules using IMP, SOW and WBS.
  • Perform Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Analysis, and Schedule Metric Analysis.
  • Advance knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems and Risk and Opportunity Analysis.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with frequent demanding deadlines.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $106,500.00 - $197,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
