Job Description:
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Execute the Mets' organizational hitting philosophy and implement individualized hitting development plans.
  • Utilize relevant technology (Blast Motion, Trackman, HitTrax, high-speed video, Hawk-Eye, Kinatrax) to monitor progress and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with Performance, Baseball Analytics, and Baseball Systems staff to integrate physical, mental, and skill development.
  • Track and document each hitter's developmental progress, ensuring consistency with organizational standards.
  • Assist in the setup and daily execution of hitting environments that prepares for players for the game that day and supports long-term growth.
  • Foster strong professional relationships with players to build trust, buy-in, and accountability.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working with hitters in a professional organization, a collegiate organization, or a facility setting
  • Ability to throw batting practice, hit fungoes, and facilitate a baseball practice
  • Experience with hitting related technology (Blast, Trackman, HitTrax, Hawk-Eye, Kinatrax, high speed video)
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly with players and staff across Player Development.
  • Spanish fluency OR strong desire to learn and use basic language skills to communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Conversational Spanish proficiency to facilitate direct communication with Spanish-speaking players and staff.
  • Strong foundation in one or more relevant fields (biomechanics, motor learning, sports psychology, skill acquisition).
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and integrate evidence-informed methods in coaching.
  • Technical proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (SQL, R, Python, etc.)

  • Growth mindset: eager to adapt, learn, and apply new knowledge.
  • Collaborative: works well with coaching staff, trainers, and performance personnel.
