DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC FINANCE JOB SUMMARY

Working under the direction of the CFO, the Director of Strategic Finance is a key member of the finance leadership team with wide responsibilities from finance to accounting, and a focus on growth. The Director of Strategic Finance will be instrumental in decision-support, providing relevant data, thoughtful analysis, and sound recommendations to CFO and senior leadership. The Director of Strategic Finance will have some responsibility to oversee accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, audit, accounts payable processing, accounts receivable collection and tax compliance.

DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC FINANCE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide strategic guidance on investments, capital structure, and financial risk management.
  • Lead financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics and explore opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to guide decision-making.
  • Evaluate and drive improvements in financial processes and systems.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, investors, and financial institutions.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for executive leadership and board meetings.
  • Mentor and develop financial team members to enhance overall capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and economic factors impacting the business.
  • Evaluate potential M&A, partnership, and strategic investment – from initial assessment through diligence and execution.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by CFO.


Requirements:

DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC FINANCE EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Must have 7+ years relevant experience in accounting and/or finance.
  • CPA is a plus but it is not required

DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC FINANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and finance principles.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to effectively analyze complex situations, identify potential solutions, and implement proactive action plans.

DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC FINANCE PAY RATE: $150K-$180K/yr
