POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Learning amp; Development Specialist to support Elmington Construction’s strategic L amp;D roadmap and enhance EC University programming. This role serves as both a collaborator and an independent instructional designer, partnering with subject matter experts while also independently developing original learning content when appropriate to meet training needs. The L amp;D Specialist will lead the development and delivery of EC University training, provide guidance on instructional design and learner engagement strategies, and ensure content is both relevant and high-quality. In addition, this role will manage training logistics and scheduling, oversee training records, and administer the Learning Management System (LMS).

SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Experience: Prior experience in learning amp; development, training, instructional design, teaching, facilitation, program coordination, or similar roles
Experience: Experience working with diverse learner groups and/or in adult learning environments (corporate, construction, technical, or academic settings)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
L amp;D Strategy amp; Charter Development
Promote a culture of learning, curiosity, and ongoing development across teams
Translate business objectives, operational priorities, and role requirements into a strategic L amp;D roadmap, including structured training programs and learning curricula
Establish and manage an L amp;D intake process to assess, prioritize, and align training requests with business needs
Continuously evolve L amp;D programs to ensure alignment with changing business needs and organizational priorities
Maintain awareness of construction training best practices and industry trends
Source and coordinate external training opportunities (e.g., leadership programs, safety certifications)
Learning Technology amp; Infrastructure
Administer the LMS, including content updates, user access, and course reporting
Manage the training calendar, including scheduling, logistics, and participant communications
Schedule and organize training sessions (in-person and virtual)
Support training-related logistics, including travel coordination and session setup as needed
Track attendance and participation
Maintain training records, learning progress, and certification tracking
Learning Experience Design amp; Delivery
Lead the development, coordination, and delivery of EC University modules (in-person amp; virtual)
Partner with SMEs to develop high-quality, accurate, and engaging training content, while coaching them on effective delivery methods and learner engagement strategies
Apply adult learning principles to the design and delivery of training
Leverage AI tools to support SMEs in developing, refining, and scaling high-quality learning content efficiently and effectively
Identify and implement improvements that enhance learner engagement, knowledge retention, and performance
Independently develop high-quality training content and learning assets, collaborating with Marketing as needed to enhance design, messaging, and visual presentation
Talent Management Integration
Support certification tracking tied to role requirements and development pathways
Continuously improve onboarding programs to enhance new hire engagement, retention, and early success
Other/General Support
