Sonny's BBQ Catering Team Lead

Compensation: Catering Team Lead compensation starts at $17.00/hour.

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
  • Attends and serves at events as needed.
  • Assists in coordinating large events.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and support for fellow Team Members.
  • Oversees delivery of catering orders to the appropriate locations and at the requested times.
  • Ensures food quality, appearance, temperature (hot/cold), etc. is to system standards.
  • Ensures catering orders are assembled correctly and all necessary paper products, side items, utensils, meats, drinks, etc. are included.
  • Oversees other Team Members on catering events to ensure appropriate appearance and attitude.
  • Oversees the set-up of equipment, food, drinks, banners, etc. at all off-site events. Assigns necessary set-up tasks to other Team Members.
  • Communicates directly with the guest at the event to fulfill any other requests or needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Catering Manager/Director.
  • Canvasses market and promotes sales growth.
  • Generates Cold/Warm Leads through research and company databases.
  • Manages database and inputs business contacts and business cards.
  • Handles region callbacks for complete catering orders (twice weekly).

  • Must have and maintain reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and 100/300 insurance coverage.
  • Must maintain ServSafe Food Safety certification.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete any ongoing training or certification programs required by the company, federally, or by the state as it relates to this position.

  • 1-2 year(s) experience in the restaurant industry/catering experience preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Catering Leads are regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time, handle products and tools, paperwork and equipment, and communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members. The job requires continuously bending, reaching, crouching, touching, feeling, tasting, talking, listening, hearing, wiping, smelling, and inhaling smoke from a wood-burning cooker. Sonny's is a fast-paced environment and requires constant human interaction and movement.
Catering Leads regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, Catering Leads regularly work with or near moving mechanical parts. Catering Leads may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and are required to work with cleaning chemicals. Frequent washing of the hands is required. Catering Leads may be exposed to temperatures between 0°F and 100°F.
