Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking a full-time Civil Engineering PE for our Cary, NC office. The PE will provide engineering and design support to Project Managers on site development and utility projects. CAD design to include road, grading and utilities. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

  • Provide all required engineering design and appropriate calculations for site layout, grading, erosion and sedimentation control, potable water, sanitary sewer, stormwater drainage and SCM design components for site development projects.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, Water CAD, Excel, stormwater modeling software and other civil design software.
  • Complete project tasks within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets.
  • Coordinate work with other project managers, engineers, and designers.
  • Correspond with clients and permit reviewers (written and verbal) under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are implemented.
  • Market NV5 by involvement in professional and civic organizations.
  • Other special assignments as directed.
Qualifications
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4 to 10 years of civil/site related work experience
  • PE license
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred) or MicroStation/GeoPak
